Anna Smith serves as an assistant project manager for the Maryland National Capital Parks and Planning Commission Program. She works with the commission to prioritize development projects in the Capital Improvement Program and manage feasibility studies for planned facilities and improvements.
Before joining B&D, Anna served as a Land Use Aide for the Mount Vernon District member of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. In this role, she worked on Route 1 corridor revitalization, historic placemaking projects, led numerous community task forces, and worked with local stakeholders on public and private developments. She also worked on specific initiatives for the Supervisor including increasing community engagement, promoting environmental sustainability and equitable development. Anna studied Urban and Environmental Planning at the University of Virginia School of Architecture.
