B&D launches workforce housing and asset management team

B&D’s PK-14 practice group has launched a dedicated team under the company’s Development Advisory Services to tackle workforce housing and strategic asset management challenges faced by California school districts..

The team is led by Al Grazioli, a statewide expert in workforce housing and resource management with more than 20 years of experience in real estate and educational facility development. Grazioli, formerly LAUSD’s Director of Real Estate and Business Development, has a proven track record in repurposing underutilized educational assets to create affordable housing and other solutions that support district priorities. His leadership aims to provide school districts with the tools to attract and retain staff while optimizing resources for long-term success.

Grazioli is joined by Ty Taylor, a director in B&D’s Northern California office, who brings a wealth of experience in educational and municipal capital projects. Since joining the firm in 2013, Taylor has managed over $1 billion in developments, including PK-14 facilities and recreational spaces. An Accredited Learning Environment Planner (ALEP) and expert in DeafSpace and Universal Design, Taylor has also contributed to master planning efforts totaling $30 billion across the U.S.

Together, Grazioli and Taylor are positioned to offer innovative, impactful solutions for school districts grappling with the challenges of affordable housing and asset management.

Grazioli can be reached at agrazioli@bdconnect.com. Taylor can be reached at ttaylor@bdconnect.com.

"The leadership and information from B&D, and the clarity with which they provide it, brings added credibility to the process and ensures that a range of university stakeholders, including senior leadership and our board, are fully informed for – and confident in – their required decision making.”
