California State University, Long Beach has announced an ambitious plan to transform its student union into a cutting-edge campus hub designed to foster connection, engagement, and well-being. The proposed renovation—driven by student input—features upgraded dining options, expanded event and lounge spaces, and modernized facilities that prioritize flexibility, inclusivity, and sustainability. The new design aims to create a vibrant center of campus life that reflects the needs of today’s students while preparing for tomorrow’s.
B&D is proud to have supported this project by advising the university on the development of the preliminary program, financial strategy, and student fee structure. Our role helped ensure that the vision for the student union was matched by a viable implementation plan—aligning ambition with affordability and long-term stewardship.
